Governance & Reputation
- Members of MedStar’s Board of Directors are appointed by the City of Fort Worth, and other member jurisdictions, to represent patients, first responders, hospitals, and doctors. Transparency
- MedStar publicly reports monthly response time performance, financial and patient/customer experience score data using an outside survey agency.
- MedStar gives all member cities access to our computer aided dispatch system, giving them real-time access to the EMS calls occurring in their city.
- MedStar gives the administration of the City of Fort Worth a daily report of ambulance unit hours by day and hour.

Cost
- According to the most recent cost report data provided to the State of Texas for public ambulance agencies submitted by the Public Consulting Group, MedStar’s expense per transport is the lowest in the state at $496 compared to the overall state average of $1,641 and the average fire-based ambulance cost per transport of $2,364.
